INDIAN VEGETABLE OIL PRODUCERS' ASSOCIATION (IVPA) originated as the "Indian Vanaspati Producers' Association" in 1977, officially registered in the year 1978 as a "Not for Profit Organization" under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956.
In 2019, a significant evolution occurred as IVPA underwent a name change to "Indian Vegetable Oil Producers’ Association." This alteration was made to better encompass the diverse membership within IVPA and to align with the broad spectrum of issues the association addresses. IVPA, an industry-specific association, welcomes participation from manufacturers of vegetable oils and all stakeholders interested in contributing to its objectives.
Functioning as a vital link between the industry and government, IVPA plays a pivotal role in shaping policy decisions. Serving as a conduit of information, the association facilitates communication between the government and the industry. IVPA boasts a membership that spans the entire edible oils and oilseeds value chain, comprising major manufacturers, processors, and refiners of vegetable oils and fats.
One of IVPA's key functions is to provide a dedicated platform for its members to showcase their policies, plans, and programs related to oilseeds and edible oils to relevant authorities. Effectively advocating for the industry, IVPA actively engages with various Ministries and Departments to address and resolve issues of significance.
Additionally, IVPA keeps its members abreast of the latest regulations and developments concerning edible oils and oilseeds, ensuring that its constituency remains well-informed and prepared for industry-related changes.
In summary, IVPA stands as a dynamic association, fostering collaboration, advocating for the industry's interests, and serving as a valuable resource for information and communication within the realm of vegetable oils and oilseeds.
